Our Renovated Bathroom Reveal

I am so excited today to show you our new bathroom! A little bit of background info if you missed my last post, we live in a historic Victorian home and this is our only full bathroom in the house. As you can see from the before picture above, the bathroom was dark, dated, and just not very functional for being the only bathroom for the whole family to share.

As you can tell, the room was made to feel sooo much bigger and brighter by removing the dividing wall between the sink and toilet and raising the ceiling above the shower. These two changes made the biggest difference overall in my opinion.

We were thrilled to work with American Standard and so thankful to them for providing the beautiful chrome fixtures like the faucet above. Those faucets just scream “victorian house” to me so they are the perfect fit. In addition to our faucets, our towel bars, robe hook, and toilet paper roll holder are from this same Quentin Collection.

Another change that we made was going from a single sink to a double sink vanity. This has made getting ready so much easier because Wes and I each have our own cabinet and sink to use!

We went with classic subway tile on the walls. We did subway tile half up on one wall and then all the way up in the shower. We chose hex tile for the floors and both were grouted with charcoal grout. To me, the white tile with dark grout has a historic look that doesn’t really go out of style. The walls were painted “cloud nine” by Benjamin Moore.

I had some fun with the details like this rug and trash can, since everything else was so neutral and classic.

The process of renovating our bathroom took about a month total because the contractors ended up finding some pretty scary electrical work that needed fixed ASAP. Since this was our only bathroom other than the powder room downstairs, we took showers at the gym! haha But as you can tell from the before and after photos, it was well worth it! We love our new bathroom and every time I take a shower I can’t believe how pretty it is! :) Can you guys believe the transformation?
