Why Every Online Shop Owner Needs an Email List
Are you completely overwhelmed by all of the marketing tools out there?
I know, it's a lot to manage.
Between Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, email newsletters, and blogging, it's hard to know how to prioritize your limited marketing time in order to get the most bang for your buck.
While all of those things are important, if your time is super limited and you can absolutely only pick one, the best place to direct your marketing efforts is email.
Why email? Email has the highest ROI (return on investment) of any platform. To get a little mathematical with you, every dollar that you spend on email marketing has a return of $44.25. And it has three times higher conversion rates (meaning that the reader actually clicks through) than social media! It's 40 times more effective than Facebook or Twitter. 40 times!
With email addresses, you're getting direct access to your customer's inbox and you can be sure that they will see it (even if they end up deleting it). With social media and blogging, you really can't guarantee that everyone is going to see your post or your information because they are scrolling platforms, and people don't just sit there scrolling all day long (well, most people!).
Not only that, but your email followers are engaged and loyal. It really doesn't take much to click "like" or "follow" on someone's social media account. But taking the time to give a company your email address means that you really want to hear more from this person / organization. Your email subscribers want more of what you're selling!
Best of all, emails are easy to create. I use Mailchimp, which is really popular (for good reason). It has a super simple drag-and-drop setup, and is generally very user friendly.
So, if time is limited and you have to make a choice, choose email!
